Why a new version

We rebuilt Expera for durability and trust.

Our first version on WordPress got us started, but deep customizations and leadership gaps led to quirks we never loved. We paused, restructured, and rebuilt—carefully.

Where we came from

We launched fast on WordPress, which helped us validate demand with campuses.

  • Early momentum with higher-ed partners
  • Custom modules layered over time
  • Quick wins, but too much variance

What went wrong

Heavy one-off customizations created inconsistencies and degraded UX. Leadership churn slowed decisions.

  • Inconsistent experiences across schools
  • Hard-to-maintain plugin stack
  • Slow responses when priorities changed

What we fixed

We re-formed the team, rebuilt the product from the ground up, and tightened governance.

  • New engineering + support staff
  • Clean architecture with clear guardrails
  • Deliberate rollout to keep quality high

Why the careful rollout?

We paused renewals the last 8 months—no subscriptions means we had to focus resources wisely. We’re pacing the beta to ensure the experience is right, because while we’re a business, we’re here to serve educators.

We believe in this tool, and we’re investing to make it the most reliable version yet.

What’s next

  • Spring 2026: Limited beta (5 schools)
  • Summer 2025: Free trials for interested campuses
  • Fall 2026: Full launch

Built for speed, stability, and scale

This version is what we always envisioned: fast, stable, and ready to scale with your system.
